Today I made a flash game for a friend- it’s poor quality, but I’ll be damned if I didn’t finally get a handle on buttons in AS3. Spelling mistakes galore!

I’ve also got a bit of miscellaneous stuff I’ve been hoarding to myself- nothing I’m really too crazy about, but I should really post them somewhere.

That said, I had a good back end of Decemer! I got my webcomic up and running, though I decided to go a bit of a different direction than “halloween inspired adventures.” Thus did another thing-a-day Internet Webcomic spring into being. internet-webcomic.com ! I’m still going to have to do something with my halloweeny guys, they’re too good not to use.

In other news, more life drawing! I’m trying to start my mornings with a half hour of Photoshop drawing with the online life drawing tool at Pixelovely, which I have decided to pimp every time I post stuff I draw from it. I’ve been trying the half hour classes, but I find that the transition from thirty second poses to fives is too abrupt; needs more ones and twos. Fortunately, there’s an option to do only ones or twos, which works just fine for me because I’m tracking the time I spend doing productive things on Paymo. Anyways, I also tried the animal life drawing tool they had there, which reminded me how long it’s been since I’ve drawn a horse, or a non-human skeleton for that matter. PAIN.

Anyone have any tips for photoshop drawing? I can’t help but feel that I’m missing out on the range of lines and lights/darks you can get with ease in traditional media (I think I’m one of the only people out there that actually likes conte.)

Images range from 30s – 5m, except for that painfully awkward figuring out of a horse, which is likely somewhere between 6-12 minutes. I’m still on the fence about posting it, but how would I track my improvement without learning drawings? D:

I’ve also been playing around a bit with the Life Drawing Tool over at Pixelovely to try to get better at gesture and drawing in general in digital media, since most life drawing classes take issue with devices that can double as cameras (such as laptops) being used in their classrooms. Fun!

Most of these are somewhere between fives and tens, but the second last one’s a one.

• Slice of bread must be from a fresh loaf, cut with a BREAD KNIFE. No bread cutting machines, please.
• Slice of bread must be double thick, then sliced in half to contain fillings.
• Stuffed inside the bread there must be ham, lettuce, tomato, mustard, mayo, and cheese. Turkey or roast beef is acceptable, but ham preferred.
• Pickles on the side a must! Piece of bread also must be packaged in hard plastic container for transport to client.

I’ve been going through job postings online this week, and while these types aren’t the majority, they really jump out when they’re there.

Back to work for me!

Still getting ready to launch my webcomic- I’ve got my colour tests where they need to be, now I just need to get my first few comics inked, and I can get the show on the road.
